Cooking 101: Everything You Need To Know
How often have you dreaded going into the kitchen to make breakfast, lunch, or dinner? You might need a new perspective. Cooking can be enjoyable and relaxing if you attempt to see it in another way. Here are a few cooking tips that are sure to get your taste buds tingling and entice your inner chef to come out.

Keep a few pointers in mind if you are planning to attempt cooking with skewers. When using metal skewers, square or twisted skewers hold food better than the round skewers.

Partially frozen meat is easier to reduce into thin strips. This is an excellent way to cut strips for Asian dishes, such as Chinese and Thai. When meats are partially frozen, the slicing is neater and the meat's fibers don't tear and stretch as easily. But, if you use this technique make sure that the meat strips thaw out again before you cook them.

Has it ever seemed like you were wasting food when you threw away fruits that were moldy? Would it be less wasteful to reduce off the moldy sections and save the rest? Unfortunately, you are unable to save half rotten fruit and expect that it is healthy. Eliminate them quickly, as mold can produce and cause health problems.

You can make healthier mashed potatoes with the same taste and texture you love by substituting cauliflower for potatoes in equal proportions. Cauliflower's bland taste makes it easier for it to blend with the potatoes, so that you can't taste it, and it picks up other ingredients. Cauliflower is also the same texture and color of potatoes when mashed so it's a great way to add more veggies, while lowering calories from classic mashed potatoes.

Soaking raw potatoes for 30 minutes prior to frying will produce the crispiest French-fried potatoes. By leaving the potatoes to absorb cold water, the fibers are reinforced. This will make it so when you fry them, they'll withstand the heat better and won't break down completely.

Try to cook the meals that you are talented at when you are cooking for a party. Preparing a meal for someone important, or that you hope to impress, is not the time to experiment with new recipes or exotic ingredients that you have never used before. Making a meal you are confident will taste good can make the evening more enjoyable.

Try some of these handy tips the next time you make a meal. Once you try some of these tips, you will believe that perhaps cooking is not so difficult after all. You may just start to enjoy it, and you might find that you can't get an adequate amount of experimenting with new recipes. Make cooking a fun part of your life!
